As an independent not-for-profit organisation, ASC works with aquaculture producers, seafood processors, retailers, foodservice companies, scientists, conservation groups and the public to drive improved environmental and social performance across aquaculture.

Our certification programme and consumer label recognise farms operating in line with strict environmental and social requirements, helping increase the availability of certified farmed seafood and making it easier for consumers and businesses to make informed seafood choices.

ASC is also expanding its engagement with the financial sector through its capital markets work, helping investors and lenders identify aquaculture businesses demonstrating strong environmental and social performance. Together with partners, ASC supports the development of credible sustainability metrics and greater recognition of certification as a tool to inform risk assessment, resilience and long-term value creation in the blue economy.
